Quick Hit: xgfx.org!

April 28, 2011

I cannot emphasize enough how much this website is the coolest thing in the world.  xGFx is a community, blog, and recipe index of exclusively gluten-free vegan recipes!   Plus the whole site is really, really cute.

Finding recipes for either diet can involve a lot of converting and general kitchen difficult, and gluten-free cooking and baking in particular inevitably involves a lot of failure.  The intersection of gluten-free recipes and vegan recipes can be really challenging, but this website makes it a lot easier.  They also have plenty of tutorials and information about gluten-free and vegan pantry essentials.  Now I know you might tolerate all the gluten in the whole world, but odds are you probably know someone who doesn’t (like me!).  You might also love meat and dairy, but you totally know someone who abstains (like me!).   This website makes it a lot easier to find delicious, tested recipes so you can cook and bake for a wider demographic without all that pesky converting, trial and error, and possible non-success.

So whenever you’re flummoxed trying to find recipe for yourself, your vegan friends, or your gluten intolerant friends, head over to xgfx.org (the best ever).

If you’re interested in more vegan recipes, my favorite blog is the Post Punk Kitchen.  And for gluten-free recipes, Celiac.com has an enormous recipe database, many of which are well tested and reviewed.
