We can do it?

February 23, 2010

Does anyone else find it ironic that in Kelly Rowland’s Alter Ego shoot modeled after Rosie the Riveter her stomach is drastically photoshopped? Does today’s feminist have to have a waist only as wide as her head? Is this really what female empowerment looks like today, photoshopping a black woman’s butt down so it fits unachievable white beauty norms?

I don’t know about you, but when my jeans are gaping at the waist by over an inch, I need a belt to hold them.

Having a waist barely thicker than your forearm is clearly the sign of true strength.

    This is just depressing.

It looks like she’s standing behind a cardboard cutout of jeans, not actually wearing them. They totally didn’t need to slim her down, but they also did a shitty job of photoshopping it. I’m sure they beefed up her arms to make her look stronger, but what is going on with that elbow?

her waist looks fine to me i don’t understand why everyones saying bad things about her stomach. I can tell when photoshop is used and i don’t believe it was used on her stomach but her arms yes.
