Stuff we’re digging this week:
Jane: I am LOVING the French book for my class called Ensemble, C’est Tout by Anna Gavalda. The translation is Hunting and Gathering. It’s a really great book about an anorexic girl receiving the love and support she needs to express herself through her amazing artistic talents and live a much healthier and satisfying life.
Jill: Baby sign language.
Emily: I’m completely obsessed with this slow loris, who loves being tickled: I’m horrified/fascinated by Gisele Bündchen’s new photo shoot. See Racialicious for a good discussion of the racially-charged images. And I’m excited that Health at Every Size is being talked up in The Guardian! A great quote:
The hardest leap for practitioner and client alike can be the idea that all bodies are worthy of respect; that it is permissible and important to appreciate and care for the body you live in, whatever size you are; that bodies should not be disliked or despised for their lack of conformity to a particular size or shape.
Also, Justin Timberlake was on SNL this week, and it was pure gold.
Carolyn 1) Carleton College’s International Festival that happened this past weekend. The sights (all the sweet clothing and the performances), the sounds (the music), and the smells (FOOD). It was awesome. One amazing act was the Gumboot Dance, which can be seen here:
2) Finally starting to eat the dark chocolate bunny that my mom sent me. It’s delicious.
