Ridiculous story of the week

May 9, 2009

This week my roommate sent me a link to this video from BBC.com.

Apparently Marks and Spencer has been charging more for bras above a certain cup size. They say it’s because they bras are more costly to make (they have more fabric, etc.), but none of their other clothes have price gradients by size. Big-chested women have banded together to protest M&S’s policy claiming that it is discriminatory and unfair. They even started a facebook group, “Busts 4 Justice” to help promote their cause. M&S initially upheld their policy, but eventually backed down under media pressure.

Starting today, all bras at Marks and Spencer will be the same price. Freedom!
